David C. D. Clark, P. Eng., has extensive experience in the marine consulting, regulatory, manufacturing and offshore drilling and marine industries. David is well known in the international marine electrical engineering field. He is a Chairman of the Canadian National Committee to the IEC.

Dr Paul A Frieze is Managing Director of PAFA Consulting Engineers, located in west London, UK. He specialises in ultimate strength, advanced analysis, risk and reliability analysis, collisions and grounding, residual strength and design of offshore structures and ships and has published widely. He is active in offshore structure code development and in expert witness work.

Brian J.M. Gowans, P. Eng., PhD, area of expertise include project management, consulting and surveying. He works internationally for various clients. Brian's research interests include special craft, materials and corrosion engineering.

Donald Langrock, P. Eng., possesses a unique combination of engineering, research & development, project management and sea going operations experience related to diverse areas of the marine field. Throughout his career Don has published extensively, (10 countries on four continents) and has chaired numerous technical conferences related to the marine and offshore industry.

Lim Soon Heng, PEng, has managerial experience in ship building and repair of vessels of all capacity. Soon Heng managed the feasibility study, planning, construction and commissioning of Keppel's Tuas Shipyard in Singapore. He has toured many shipyards in Japan, Taiwan, Phillipines, Portugal, Sweden and UK and acted as consultant to the UN and government related companies in Malaysia. He is currently promoting a concept which he calls "ShiPark".

Dr Robert E. Melchers is Professor of Civil Engineering at The University of Newcastle in Australia. His research and consulting interests are reliability and risk particularly for offshore structures, ships and pipelines, and in marine corrosion modelling. He is a Director of Australian Marine and Offshore Group Pty Ltd, a specialised consulting firm based in Melbourne, Australia.

Bill Moses has over 30 years all-round experience of the passenger and freight ferry industry, both from the perspective of a serving deck officer and as an operator of conventional ropax vessels and fast craft. Bill has a record of turning heavily loss-making services into profit within a relatively short timescale. He provides advice and expertise to the conventional freight, passenger and fast ferry industry. Bill is also Chairman of the Board of the Dover Counselling Centre, a registered charity set up to provide support in the wake of the Herald of Free Enterprise disaster.

Dr. Jeom K. Paik is a Professor at the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering of the Pusan National University in Pusan, Korea. His research interests are in ultimate and fatigue strength, ship collision / grounding mechanics, strength design of aluminum alloy fast vessels, and development of probabilistic age related damage estimation models.

Thomas E. Sego, BA, has over twenty-one years experience with U.S. Naval ships, principally in the main propulsion area, including duties as Commanding Officer. He has extensive experience in ship repair, ship and machinery modifications, involving both commercial and government administered ship repair activities. Tom set up and successfully managed a commercial field services organization engaged in naval ship upgrades and repair.

Robert A. Sheehan, P.Eng, Manager Marine Services of Siemens Westinghouse Inc. in Canada. Robert is actively involved in design, manufacture and installation of integrated systems for shipbuilding and ship conversion projects in the U.S.A., Canada, Europe and China.

David E. Smiley, Vice President and Principal of Marine Design Associates Ltd. in Victoria, Canada. David's area of expertise includes Project Management, Marine Consultancy, including pre-purchase valuations of all types of vessels, Advisory Services and Owner Representation, Business Broking, survey work, marine management, auditing to ISO standards and Legal Expert representation. He has very extensive International exposure and experience.

Karl U. Stulpner, P.Eng., is a specialist in engineering design of propulsion machinery and ship’s auxiliary systems. Other fields of expertise include design of submersibles, surveying and specialist consulting. He is presently involved in detail engineering of various hydraulic systems.

Norman D. Whyte is a Marine Engineer and Principal of technical services company in Vancouver, Canada. Norman, for over 30 years, held increasingly senior technical and management appointments with well known British, Canadian and US shipyards such as Cammel Laird (England), Davie Shipbuilding (Canada), Burrard Dry Dock (Canada), and recently as a Chief Engineer with Todd Pacific Shipyards in Seattle (USA). He served five years as an advisory board member for the Engineering Faculty of the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Martin Yeatman, P.Eng, has extensive experience in corrosion and fouling protection of ships and marine structures. His other areas of expertise include marine technical consulting and technical surveys.

Xia Yongnan, Senior Engineer in the Shanghai Marine Equipment Research Institute. Xia is a Chinese representative to various ISO and IEC technical Committees in the area of outfitting, deck machinery and electrical installations.
