Asia Pacific Maritime Hosts ICHCA Conference
9/26/2005
Asia Pacific Maritime 2006 (APM), which runs from 22-24 March 2006 at the Singapore Expo, will host ICHCA’s 28th Cargo Handling Conference. This biennial conference will have as its theme “Cargo Handling in the Globalised Marketplace” and will focus on the growth in containerised trade in Asia and the implications of the changes in cargo handling methods, procedures and equipment that this growth is stimulating. ICHCA has set up an international steering committee to formulate a conference programme covering important issues which include New Technologies, Risk, Safety and Security Management and the Role of Entrepot, by drawing internationally recognised industry experts to address these timely and important issues.
The organisers see strong synergy between Asia Pacific Maritime and the ICHCA Conference http://www.ichcainternational.co.uk since the APM exhibition provides an international business forum for leading maritime players involved in marine engineering and ports technology. The dovetailing of APM’s spotlight on port technology with ICHCA’s focus on cargo handling is especially relevant, as are the business matchmaking opportunities between ICHCA International members and exhibitors of the P.I.T.C.H. (Port Integrated Technology Cargo Handling) Pavilion at APM consisting of port equipment and cargo handling suppliers.
