Ausmarine Conferences to be More Focused

The Ausmarine series of exhibitions and conferences have grown, developed and changed considerably since their inception in 1994. This has reflected the growing maturity of the Australian maritime industry. Until 2002 the Ausmarine conferences were quite general in that the one conference covered all aspects of maritime activity in Australia and the surrounding areas. From 2003, it has been decided to focus the conferences more intensely so as to provide better value for delegates from particular industry sectors.

Delegates to the Ausmarine East 2003 conference, which will be held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (October 28 – 30, 2003), will discuss the Australia’s maritime future. The following focus themes are planned:

  • Plastic Composites in Ship and Boat Building.
  • Aluminium Ship and Boat Building developments.
  • Australia’s Fishing Future – A non-government view.
  • Australian Ship and Boat Building – Where now?
    • In addition, a number of leading commentators and suppliers to the Industry have been invited to conduct one hour product presentation seminars. These sessions will facilitate interaction with both existing and potential customers, as well as the media and others. To complete the event, the following awards will be presented at the Ausmarine Dinner: The Australian Fishing Boat of the Year, The Australian Fisherman of the Year and The Australian Mariner of the Year.
