Awards in Marine Electronics for 2000
The National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) presented product awards to 10 companiesin 23 product categories at the association's Annual Convention and Exposition in Fort Myers (USA).The "Best of Show" award went to Furuno, for its FCV-1200 Series Echo-sounder. Furuno was also selected for best GMDSS console, radar (recreational and commercial), sonar, and video sounder/fishfinder (recreational and commercial). |
 | Other award recipients included KVH (three awards), Raytheon (three awards), Simrad (two awards), Northstar (two awards), ICOM (two awards), Standard Horizon, Shakespeare, C-MAP and Northern Airborne Technology.
The NMEA Product Awards are presented annually to recognize excellence in design, performance and reliability in marine electronics products. The recipients are selected by a vote of marine electronicsdealers, distributors and other industry professionals. Under the rules, each active member of the NMEA receives one vote, plus one additional vote for each NMEA-certified marine electronics technician. |
