Hudson Marine Management Services (Oslo, Norway) has created a ballast water management plan that is built on IMO Resolution A.868(20) - Guidelines for the control and management of ships' ballast water to minimize the transfer of harmful aquatic organisms and pathogens. Several nations now require some form of ballast water management to take place onboard vessels calling their ports. This management can include; at sea ballast exchange, reporting forms, ballast management logs, training and the designation of a ballast water management officer to over see ballast management.
The Hudson Marine Management Services ballast water management plan is designed to give maximum flexibility in performance of ballast water management procedures while not locking the ship's crew into one method of ballast management. It includes but is not limited to; Ballast water arrangements, Safety considerations, Management procedures, Training, National and Local requirements as well as a place to maintain ballast records in the plan.
Hudson Marine Management Services is offering the Ballast Water Management Plan in two versions:Template Version: a template plan is provided to the client who then completes and produces the plans Completed Plan: a questionnaire is sent to the client for each vessel to be covered by the plan. Hudson Marine Management Services will than complete the plan, submit it to the client for verification and upon approval from the client produce final copies and distribute.
