CAE fuel fill control system for US Navy's LHD 7
Litton Ingalls Shipbuilding has chosen CAE to provide the Fuel Fill Control System for the US Navy's LHD 7 Iwo Jima multipurpose amphibious assault ship. The Iwo Jima is a Wasp Class 40,500-ton ship that can transport and land ashore troops, tanks, artillery, ammunition, and other supplies necessary to fully support an amphibious assault. It also acts as a helicopter carrier. The value of the contract was not disclosed. |
 | The control system will provide the integrated management of the extensive fuel filling and transfer systems of the ship. Employing CAE's Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) digital controls technology, the system provides advanced automation for operational effectiveness of the ship.
This contract follows several recent other contracts for CAE's Marine Controls division, which to date has supplied or been selected to supply advanced automation technology for over 90 warships in 11 navies worldwide. |
