Cable-Laying Vessels

A.P. Møller has ordered additional two cable-laying vessels from Volkswerft Stralsund, Germany with delivery at the end of year 2000 and the beginning of year 2001. There are now a total of four vessels of this type on order from the yard.

The vessels each have a length of 100 meters, a width of 20 meters and will be able to load about 6000 tone cables in four separate tanks. The positioning systems are optimized with considerable thruster capacity enabling the vessel to maintain her position up to wind force 8 with 1-knot current from the same direction as the wind.
