The international workshop Offshore Oil & Gas Operations, Marine Pipelines and Ship Structures will focus on life of coatings, materials, repair of coatings and NDE. The workshop is organized by the Colorado School of Mines (USA) and sponsored by the Minerals Management Service of the U.S. Department of Interior, the American Bureau of Shipping, National Institute of Standards and Technology, NACE International and the U.S. Department of Energy. It will take place in Biloxi, Mississippi (USA), April 14-16, 2004.
This workshop will undertake complete assessment of opportunities for research and development of coating practice, coating materials, application, repair, non-destructive evaluation, and extended coating life prediction. It will define the state of the art, assess the current practices and its limitations, discuss field experiences and chart a course for the best corrosion protection methodologies of offshore structures, pipeline and ship structures, including sensing and monitoring. The workshop will conclude with the clear identification of research and development issues and will create a roadmap for achieving them.
