Container Lashing and De-Lashing Program

Container lashing and de-lashing is one of the most dangerous and physically demanding jobs onboard a container ship - rods falling, mariners tripping, containers moving overhead, and fingers pinched are all accidents waiting to happen. A new training DVD from Maritime Training Services (Seattle, USA) - “Container Lashing and De-Lashing: Safety First!”, takes a close look at these very dangerous jobs and identifies ways to work efficiently, effectively, and safely.

This training program was produced at the request of Westwood Shipping (a subsidiary of Weyerhaeuser Company), Eagle Marine Services and P&O Ports Canada. The 12 minute video demonstrates the right way how to perform container lashing and de-lashing with reminders and tips on many topics such as how to work in teams, what is the correct PPE, how to carry and lay down the rod safely, how to avoid accidents and injuries, etc.
