Contract for Shrimp Trawler

A new building contract for an Arctic Shrimp Trawler has been assigned to Ørskov Christensens Staalskibsværft A/S by the Shipowner Sikuaq Trawl ApS, Godthåb, Greenland. The vessel is set for delivery in June 2001. An optional sister vessel is included in the contract. The 70 m Arctic Shrimp Trawler has been developed in close co-operation between the Shipowner and the Naval Architects Skipsteknisk A/S, Aalesund, Norway. Ørskov Christensens Staalskibsværft A/S was founded in 1958 by Mr. Arne Ørskov Christensen. The shipyard, first shipyard in Denmark to build fishing vessels from steel, has delivered over 200 vessels for shipowners all over the world. The facilities include, among others, surfacing/finishing workshop with automatic climate control.
