Cranes for Chinese Newbuildings
In the first six months of this year MacGREGOR Cranes secured orders for 77 cranes for ships to be built in China. The total value of the contracts is in excess of US$20 million. The largest order of the recent contracts from China is for 24 MacGREGOR-Hägglunds GL4028-2 cranes for a series of six 52,300 dwt bulk carriers. These are being built at the Jingjiang shipyard for UK-based Greek owner Victoria Steamship Co Ltd. |
Further Jingjiang shipyard references recorded this year are for two series of ships building for Intership Navigation. The Limassol-headquartered company has ordered two pairs of GL4528/4032-2 cranes for two ships in a continuing series of 17,800 dwt container-friendly multipurpose cargo vessels, and two four-crane shipsets of GL4026-2/3226 grab versions for a further series of 35,000 dwt container-friendly bulkers. Intership has also ordered a smaller 8,000 dwt container-friendly multipurpose cargo vessel from Chengxi shipyard to be equipped by a pair of MacGREGOR-Hägglunds GL6022/4032-2 cranes. | |
