DMDSS Training

Maritime Communications is an interactive multimedia application using the latest CD ROM technology to attain and refresh knowledge of GMDSS. The essential objectives are to give the user theoretical knowledge to pass examination for GOC (General Operator's Certificate) according to GMDSS and to act as a refresher in order to maintain acquired skills.

Interactive animations, photographs, text and narration guides the user through the theories of wave bands and frequencies. Maritime Communications gives a good understanding of the difference between VHF and MF/HF, terrestrial and satellite systems.
In addition, the user learns to handle all GMDSS equipment on the bridge and the safety equipment in the life rafts. Advanced interactive simulations of realistic distress and urgency situations allow users to practice their skills over and over again at their own pace.
Maritime Communications is entirely in English, which provides necessary vocabulary training for safer communications at sea.
