Dalian COSCO Marine Engineering (DME) experiences a continuous growth in demand for its repair services. There were 15 vessels along the piers for docking and repairs in November, which included 4 German vessels, 5 Greek vessels, 3 Korean ships, 1 Russian ship and 2 ships from domestic owners. The yard management expects that by the middle of January 2001 another 14 vessels will have booked dock space at DME.
DME, a part of COSCO Group, undertakes repairs and conversions for all types of vessels offering dry-docking for Capesize vessels and afloat repairs for ULCCs. DME facilities include, among others, the largest floating Dock in China, one Panamax grave dock and five repair berths with total 1400m in length. Besides the conventional shiprepair, DME is undertaking more complex projects such as those related to LPG and chemical tankers.
