Deck Machinery Order

Ulstein Brattvaag has been awarded contracts by two of Japan's largest shipbuilders to supply deck machinery for two large 135 000 cu.m LNG tankers. These orders have been won against competition from Japanese suppliers.Ulstein Brattvaag has been awarded contracts by two of Japan's largest shipbuilders to supply deck machinery for two large 135 000 cu.m LNG tankers. These orders have been won against competition from Japanese suppliers.

The complete hydraulic systems, with pumps, motors, valves and controls, will be supplied from Ulstein Brattvaag, while assembly of the winches, function testing and surface treatment will be carried out in South Korea before shipment to Japan. The first ship-set is to be delivered to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' yard in March 2000, and the second set to Mitsui Engineering and Shipbuilding five months later.
