The OLYMPIAN system is the latest workclass ROV developed by Slingsby Engineering Ltd and is designed for carrying out construction, repair and maintenance tasks on subsea oil installations. The system can perform these tasks down to 3000 metres in Beaufort Sea State six sea conditions.

The OLYMPIAN system operated by DSND Consub performed it’s first deep dive on 5th October and set a new depth record of 2790m. The dive is also believed to be a new record for a Tether Management System in Brazil. The OLYMPIAN incorporates technology proven on SEL’s previous ROVs and has a number of features to aid the operator and extend mission times. These include a TA40 manipulator system with the Advanced Digital Controller, and the highly successful Slingsby Tether Management System, 37 of which have been built to date.
