Dynamically Positioned PSV


Atlantic Marine has signed a contract with Astro Offshore Corp., a subsidiary of Astro Maritima Navegacao, S.A., Rio de Janerio, Brazil. The DISCOVERY 2300 is 233 ft. x 54 ft. x 20 ft.
The vessel's propulsion plant consists of two EMD 16-645 E7 diesels delivering 2,875 bhp @ 900 rpm and driving two Ulstein 2000H Z-drives, an Ulstein retractable Z-drive bow thruster and an Ulstein transverse tunnel thruster. It will carry 900 cu.m of fuel oil, 1,750 cu.m of fresh water, 150
cu.m of dry bulk and has a 1,400 tone deck loading. It will have accommodations for 14 crew and 6 passengers. Delivery is scheduled for December 1999. This dynamically positioned PSV was designed by Peter S. Hatfield, Vancouver, B.C. (Canada).
