Electronic Systems for Megayachts

Royal Denship (Denmark) is building a series of super luxury yachts for foreign owners. The bridge navigation and communication systems are PC based and only flat panel LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screens are used. MARIS (Norway) has been contracted to deliver Radar/ARPA Automatic Radar Plotting Aids, Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems and Voyage Data Recorders.

The yachts are also equipped with LCD screens in all cabins, living areas, and the fly bridge, enabling totally independent access to centrally stored movies and music. Access to the navigational information, communication and security units is also provided. The entertainment systems are delivered by Peter Johansen Group A/S. An intercom system installed throughout the yacht complements the communication facilities. The navigation and communication equipment is totally PC-integrated for readout on flat screen displays and with the possibility of remote control throughout the yacht and via Internet access.

The alarm system is TV-monitored for visual control and can be remotely controlled via the PCs as well as via the Internet. There are currently 6 motor yachts and 3 sailing yachts under construction.
