Engineering Aspects of Oil & Gas Production

The Canadian Institute of Marine Engineers (CIMarE) Victoria Branch is to host a marine seminar "Developing BC Offshore Oil & Gas" in June 2002. The conference goal is to review the marine engineering aspects of the exploration and production of oil and gas off BC's coast. The Conference Committee and Vancouver Island Branch of CIMarE are looking for leaders in the industry to present papers on various subjects and to involve themselves in the subsequent discussions.

Subjects for discussion will include, but not be limited to the following:
1. Lessons Learned;
2. Exploration Development;
3. Rigs, Vessels & Equipment;
4. Environmental Protection;
5. Employment Opportunities;
6. Government Perspective; and
7. Oil & Gas Industry Perspective.
Abstracts are required by 15 February 2002 and the papers will be published in time for presentation at the event.
