Equipment for Subsea Vessel

RD Instruments announced that Subsea Robotics Laboratory (La Seyne, France) has placed an order for RDI's Workhorse Navigator Doppler Velocity Log instrument to improve the performance of the Subsea Lab's Nautile manned submersible.
The Nautile is the 20 million dollar, titanium-hulled underwater vessel that was used to bring pieces of the Titanic to the surface in August of 1998. It can carry 3 passengers up to 6000 meters beneath the surface of the ocean, making it the only vessel that can explore 97% of the ocean bottom. The Nautile requires a Doppler Velocity Log to calculate its underwater position, and speed through the water or along the bottom.
