Evolution of the Containership

Lloyd's List Events, supported by the Nautical Institute, Containerisation International and Lloyd's Shipping Manager announced the first conference focusing on the evolution of the containership. This two-day event offers a timely opportunity to assess the future evolution of the containership at a time of global revolution in the liner shipping trade. It will act as a unique forum to review critical issues in design, build and operation – assessing the trends in larger, faster ships; raising safety concerns, including the tonnage/load line issue, excessive rolling and on-deck stowage of containers.

This conference offers a timely opportunity for examining the growth in size of containerships, ports and infrastructure, critical review and debate of containership safety, design, build & operational issues. Builder and port operator case studies will be presented.

Conference highlights include:

  • Container Industry Analysis
  • Design & Operation Applications
  • Very Large Container Ships
  • Fast Container Transport
  • Containership & Cargo Safety
  • Aspects of Propulsion
  • Ports & Infrastructure Developments
