FAST 2003, the seventh International Conference on Fast Sea Transportation will be held in Ischia, the largest island in the bay of Naples (Italy), known as the "Verdant isle". The Conference is being organized jointly by the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering of the University of Naples "Federico II" and the Institute of Navigation "G. Simeon" of University of Naples "Parthenope".

The Conference provides an opportunity to present high speed craft research results and experiences and to show their impact both on the marine transport industry and on policy making. It brings together researchers, designers, builders, defense experts, shipowners, operators and economists. Thus, it provides a platform for establishing new contacts and for allowing the key players of this field to meet.
