Finnish Navy Selects New Sonars

      5/31/1999

After a 10 month, extensive comparative evaluation, the Finnish Navy has selected Triton Elics International's Isis Sonar and Delph Seismic for integrated side scan sonar/shallow seismic data acquisition and processing. The Finnish Navy conducts hydrographic, oceanographic, and geological surveys in extremely harsh conditions, underscoring the robustness and reliability of TEI systems.
The acquisition system consists of the latest TEI Isis ruggedized computer-based on a 350 MHz Pentium II. The system is configured to collect data from the Finnish Navy's Klein 595 sidescan sonar, an ELMA acoustic reflection profiler with SIG streamer, and a Furuno echosounder using a dedicated server.
TEI's Isis Sonar is available with options for custom interfaces to most digital and analogside scan sonars, including Klein 2000, Klein 5000 and Edgetech DF 1000.
