Fleet Management Software for 58 Vessels

ABS Nautical Systems has been chosen by Transpetro/Fronape, the largest shipowner in South America, to provide fleet management software, consulting and implementation services for their 58 vessels and corporate headquarters.

The ABS SafeNet suite of software makes fleet management easier and more efficient by linking management operations with onboard personnel to create a seamless information stream. The contract calls for use of eight modules: Maintenance and Repair, Purchasing and Inventory Control, Financial Reporting, Crew Management, Crew Payroll, ISM/STCW Compliance, Document Management and Commercial Modules.

The differentiating factor for winning the contract with Transpetro/Fronape was the fact that the ABS SafeNet suite of modules was more robust in terms of functionality and also had the capability to interface with their existing purchasing and financial system, commented Michael Johnson, Director of Operations, ABS Nautical Systems. Johnson says ABS SafeNet will be interfaced with SAP to create a powerful and fully integrated operational and financial control system for the organization’s fleet. Additionally, ABS Nautical Systems is developing a long term implementation and on-going support plan to meet the growing IT demands of its latest client.
