Fram West Contract

      5/17/2001

Fram West Contract

Norsk Hydro has awarded Aker Maritime a contract (value about NOK 500 million) in connection with the Fram West development in the North Sea. Aker Maritime will be responsible for the engineering, construction and installation of a production module on the Troll C platform where oil and gas from Fram West will be processed. Aker Maritime will also carry out the necessary modifications on the platform.

Aker Technology in Oslo has developed the chosen concept. By placing all the production equipment for Fram West in one module the extent of commissioning before delivery has been increased. This has reduced the scope of work offshore. Several Aker Maritime subsidiaries will be involved in the Fram Vest project. Their key responsibilities are:

  • Aker Engineering, Oslo - Responsible for concept and system definition.
  • Aker Stord, Stord - Sub-product engineering and construction of the 800 tonnes module.
  • Aker Elektro, Stord - Engineering and installation of electrical, instrumentation and telecommunications equipment.
  • Aker Offshore Partner, Bergen - Engineering and implementation of modifications on Troll C (217 tonnes in total).
