Guild of Benevolence of the IMarEST
The Institute of Marine Engineers, Science and Technology (IMarEST) is organising a charity event scheduled for 16th December 2005, Grosvenor House, London. The Guild of Benevolence is a charity with the objective of granting assistance to necessitous Marine Engineers and past and present members of the IMarEST and their dependants. It originated from the fund, set up by the Institute of Marine Engineers and the Daily Chronicle within days of the sinking of Titanic on 15th April 1912, for the widows and orphans of the Engineering Staff of the Titanic, all of whom perished. |
 | The IMarEST’s Annual Conversazione and Dance offers a great opportunity to join the maritime community at one of London’s most celebrated venues. This festive occasion is an ideal chance for companies to entertain valued clients and reward employees. All proceeds from this event benefit the work of the Guild of Benevolence - granting assistance to deserving Marine Engineers and Scientists in need and their dependents. Most of the people helped by the Guild live in the UK. However, as the IMarEST is an international organisation, members or their dependants have been helped in Argentina, New Zealand, Australia, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Nigeria, Cyprus, South Africa, Italy, Spain, France, Germany and Ireland. |
