The International Hovercraft & Fast Craft Technology and Operations Conference and Exhibition will be held 11-14 July 2001 at Whale Island, Portsmouth, UK. This is the first exhibition and conference to feature both commercial and military variants of hovercraft and all high speed marine craft. The UK Ministry of Defence has granted approval for HoverFast to be held at the Royal Navy base and the event is run under the patronage of the Nautical Institute and with the full support of the British Naval Equipment Association, the Royal Institute of Naval Architects, The British Marine Equipment Association, The Hovercraft Society and Portsmouth City Council.
Planned exhibits include hovercraft, multi and mono-hull vessels, fast intercept and interdiction craft, ferries and fast transit craft, fast patrol craft, amphibious craft, air cushion technologies, fast rescue craft, wing-in-ground-effect vehicles, wave-piercing craft and their associated technologies. The target audience will be all current and potential users of high speed craft.
