smit.jpg (28220 bytes)

Smit International has pioneered in the application of a new technique called "Hot Tap". This technology enables to discharge oil and liquid chemical cargoes from sunken vessels. As a result, operations which were once technically or economically impossible are now within reach. During recent years , the "hot tap" has been applied to bring several operations to a successful conclusion. At first this technology was developed for recovery oil and liquids in shallow waters up to a depth of 300 metres. Smit’s latest developed diverless technology is also suitable for waterdepths of more than 300 metres. More information: Smit International
