Thrusters, deepwater experience, DP control systems, acoustics, and surface position references will all come under the microscope in late October at the annual IMCA Station Keeping Seminar with its theme Dynamic Positioning: Practical Experience and New Ideas. It is very much a seminar with a difference.
Being held in The Netherlands 29-31 October 2000, this year’s event moves debate to a new level, explains Tony Read, Chief Executive of IMCA – The International Marine Contractors Association: "This seminar is unique in that every delegate can, in two days, learn about the DP control systems from three leading suppliers; acoustic position references from three leading suppliers; and all the different types of surface position references. In each of these three sessions we will, quite literally, be taking delegates into the exhibition so they can compare and contrast the latest developments in these three critical fields."
Delegates will hear and take part in informed debates thruster failures - reliability and solutions; deepwater positioning experience from the Northern North Sea, Brazil and Angola; and the training of key DP personnel.
