IMO Pilot 1999/2000

With the aim of making it easier for yards, shipping companies, administrations and other interested parties to incorporate new IMO regulations and guidelines in their work, and thereby to prevent delays and unnecessary costs, Germanischer Lloyd has now for the first time published the “IMO Pilot 1999/2000”. This handy reference for daily use will be published regularly as an updated version.

International shipping legislation is subject to constant change. This affects the technical and operational standards for shipping safety, as well as aspects of quality and the environment. In a clear format, the “IMO Pilot 1999/2000” summarizes all the current or expected regulations of relevance to the shipping world.

The user is given an overview of the content of the regulation, the date of validity, any restrictions etc. It is also made clear which ship type is affected and whether the requirements are of a technical and/or operational nature. As a supplement, the collection of tables also contains extensive bibliographical notes on the corresponding official IMO publications as well as comments and details regarding SOLAS and MARPOL. A detailed appendix provides information on the authorizations of Germanischer Lloyd by a total of 110 flag states, and lists the addresses of the authorities that are responsible locally in each case.
