IMarEST Grants Recognition of CPD Course

The IMarEST recently granted full recognition of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD)course in Maritime and Offshore Engineering offered by Liverpool John Moores University as an acceptable course leading to Chartered Engineer status via the Mature Candidate Route (MCR). The distance learning course offered by the University is specifically designed for seagoing marine engineers, or those for whom full-time attendance at a university is not viable. The course will assist candidates in preparing their MCR synopsis and offers advice, technical information and administrative support when producing the final MCR thesis.

Members who are contemplating the Mature Candidate Route as one option to gaining Chartered Engineer registration are recommended to find out more about this course. The requirements for the MCR will be changing after December 2003, so candidates are reminded that their submissionmust be completed prior to this date.
