The new modeling software from Transas, called Model Wizard, ensures prompt automatic construction of 3D surfaces, submerged terrain and aids to navigation for a selected area. It has been specially designed for users of Transas Navi-Trainer ship handling simulators to solve such tasks as urgent spatial database development or updating; modeling of navigation systems; preview and testing of changes in existing or entering new areas; marine vector chart manufacturing and correction; military and other tasks requiring classified data processing.
According to the company, Model Wizard permits the reduction of a comprehensive creative process of area modeling to several hours. This user-friendly tool doesn’t require special 3D modeling skills from the operator and guarantees a high quality of generated scenes. To create a scene, the operator just chooses any area of the world. Model Wizard automatically gathers all the charts covering the area, and generates Visual, Radar and ECDIS models. The operator also has access to the extensive object library of over 200 highly detailed elements, including 3D models of aids to navigation, technical, cultural and other objects.
The user can generate and edit various types of coastlines, such as mooring walls, embankments and steep or sloped coastlines. Moreover, it is possible to generate and correct depths, elevations, fairways and coastline configuration, as well as buoys, lighthouses, text, racon and magnetic data. All edited or imported objects in any of these simulator modules are automatically updated in the other modules accordingly.
