Improved RulesCalc

RulesCalc Version 1.1 facilitates design assessment of bulk carriers, oil tankers, container ships, general cargo and ro-ro vessels. This design software system devised by Lloyd’s Register – quickly and simply performs scantling assessments to Lloyd’s Register’s Rules and Regulations for the Classification of Ships. The program equips designers and naval architects with a cost-effective tool that gives them confidence that classification aspects of their design are right first time, every time.

RulesCalc version 1.1 is available now, and provides the following benefits to everyone involved with design assessment:

  • minimal data input and fast calculation
  • easy-to-use format, helping to inspire rapid user confidence
  • accurate concept evaluation early in the design process.
The program can be used for longitudinal, midship and transverse structural assessment. Future versions, which are now under development, will be extended to cover all areas of structure requiring assessment under Lloyd’s Register Rules and Regulations.
