SHIPSHAPE is a ship design system developed to meet the needs of naval architects for a flexible, fast and reliable tool, primarily for preliminary ship design. The system is also fully capable of being used for documentation (stability booklets, etc.).

SHIPSHAPE allows to perform tedious calculations on a very accurate and reliable level fast. It allows to calculate a large number of alternative ship designs, and in doing so, finding the best solution to the task at hand. Modifications are easily implemented with aid of topology in the project model. If the hull lines changed, geometry of deck, superstructures and internal arrangement are automatically updated. Even parts of the loading conditions input are updated since it is made relative to geometry objects.
