Transas LNG simulator is intended for training of the onboard crew who are responsible for the safe cargo handling operations and vessel’s auxiliary equipment. Training on this latest simulator is conducted in compliance with the requirements of the STCW-95, MARPOL 73/78 and other international regulations and conventions. The LCHS 4000 LNG simulator can also be used in the course of managerial staff base training to improve familiarization with the main LNG products transfer operations.
The membrane LNG is a new ship type available in the simulator. Transas created the product with a comparison-training concept implemented for membrane and spherical LNG carriers. Thus, the trainee can compare key differences between both tankers spherical vs. membrane during the training process. Among the main screens there is a monitor of events, task screen, ballast system, afterpeak part of cargo system, terminal connections, forepeak part of cargo system, inert gas plant, inert gas distribution line and load control system with cargo planning capabilities.
3D objects and their location onboard the ship are simulated together with the product flow in pipelines.
This new simulator has been successfully installed at the Calhoon MEBA Engineering School in Easton (Maryland, USA), Bamio Nautical College (Spain), and ACMA (Torre del Greco) Enterprise Training Center, Ercolano (Naples, Italy).
