ALSTOM, through its subsidiary Chantiers de l’Atlantique, has delivered the MILLENNIUM cruise ship to her owner, Celebrity Cruises. MILLENNIUM is the largest passenger ship ever built in France. She benefits from the latest technological improvements. MILLENNIUM is the first cruise ship which has deserved the "Clean Design" label, granted by Det Norske Veritas and ensuring that the ship respects environment on every aspect.

The propulsion is ensured by a Mermaid ™ system, developed by ALSTOM and Kamewa, which consists of two pods, adjustable at 360°, which considerably improve the ship maneuverability. The power generation system is ensured by a combined cycle of COGES type associating gas turbines and steam turbine, which replaces the traditional diesel generator system.

With her 294 meters, this cruise ship is designed to accommodate up to 2450 passengers in 1019 cabins (among which 78% with view on the sea), on 62000 sqm of public space.

MILLENNIUM have been designed and built in 27 months, which is setting a precedent for a ship of such a size, technological complexity and innovation level.
