      1/12/2003

Mediterranean Maritime/Work Boat World Europe

Following the very successful first Work Boat World Europe exhibition held in Venice in April 2002, the organisers have confirmed that the event will be held for the second time from March 30 – April 1, 2004.It has been decided to widen the scope of the event and call it Mediterranean Maritime/Work Boat World Europe, in response to requests from exhibitors and the maritime industry in Italy. The event will expand its focus from the general small-ship sector to include cargo and passenger ships of all sizes as well as warships and the whole range of vessels from the smallest fishing boats to the largest cruise ships and tankers.

The event is aimed at the owners and operators of all kinds of civilian and government craft working throughout Europe and, not particularly, in the Mediterranean Sea and the nearby rivers, lakes and canals. At the first event there were more than 100 stands at which over 130 companies presented their wares or services. The show was attended by a large number of private operators from as far away as Singapore and the Caribbean, senior people from government vessel owing organisations, the Navy, Customs and Coast Guard. Italy’s leading yards were well represented as were the major engine and propulsion system manufacturers and a number of leading shipbuilders from Australia and the United States.
