Following accidents such as groundings and/or impact with other objects, a major task is to stop the ingress of water and/or limit the escape of oil from inside the vessel. Miko Marine AS have valuable experience in how to "patch" openings, even with uneven surfaces, fractures and indents, normally following a grounding or collision. It is also used for sealing off openings, such as sea-chests, water inlets and outlets on all types of floating structures.

Combining special "Hat Shape" Miko Plaster ® and "stapling" them to the hull by using Miko underwater tool, a fast, strong, reliable and flexible patch is provided. The Miko Salvage Kit provides a set of tools allowing efficiently patch openings to stop the ingress of water and/or limit the escape of oil from inside the tank. Uneven steel plates, fractures and indents normally following a grounding are overcome by using a special "Hat Shape" plaster which is easily positioned and secured by stapling special profiles with drive pins. Rubber sealing provides watertightness.
