Multiple echo ultrasonic thickness gauges

Multiple echo ultrasonic thickness gauges from Cygnus Instruments have long been favorites of the marine industry. Their entire range has now been upgraded and by using new electronics but still maintaining all of the advantages of measuring through coatings which can be up to 6mm thick, the gauges are now even easier to use with added benefits.
The user selectable menu allows the operator to select features such as probe frequency, imperial/metric and the velocity of sound of the materials for which it is calibrated. Selecting the correct operating frequency for the probe in use results in improved stability and reliability of readings. In addition, there is a more sophisticated error checking facility which means there are less false readings.

All gauges now have an extended measuring range up to 250mm and a “battery low” warning allowing the user to continue taking measurements.Due to the improved electronics, the Cygnus 1 range which includes a Basic model, Underwater model and an Intrinsically Safe model all now have shorter bodies making them easier to handle. The Cygnus 4 has a new keypad which has a “reading hold” button. As with previous models, all Cygnus gauges are supplied with spare parts in their own carry case and come with a two year warranty.
