NATO at MarineSafety Rotterdam

For the third consecutive year a large group of high ranking students from the NATO Defence College in Rome visited MarineSafety Rotterdam (MSR). The MSR staff welcomed the commanding officer, LGEN Olboeter, Deputy Commandant RADM Fusco, and their staff. MSR prepared a special program for the students in which the module of MSR’s Naval Control of Shipping Course was presented by RNLN Bob Roetering, Nautical and Technical expert and Senior Instructor at MSR.

The officers, representing 19 different NATO countries, were given a presentation on several aspects of the Netherlands, and its Defence Organisation in particular.Supported by the officers of the Netherlands Chief of Defence, the Rotterdam Port Authority, and Rotterdam Municipality, the visit was concluded with a tour on board the Royal Thalassa.
