New Cabin Ventilation Concept

      3/19/2002

New Cabin Ventilation Concept

Halton Marine, marine HVAC systems manufacturer (Finland), developed a new cabin ventilation concept called SoftAir. According to Halton Marine, this solution provides ultimate air-comfort technology. SoftAir system is a total cabin air conditioning package. It consists of various individual products that can be used separately or in various packages to build a customized cabin ventilation system.

The system components include a cabin unit with plug-and-play controllers plus supply and exhaust products. Controllers consist of a junction box, an intelligent room control panel and an interconnection cable. Cabin units can operate as stand-alone units, in series or can be connected to a network controlled by proprietary software. The SoftAir solutions enable shipyards to reduce commissioning time and costs since airflows, temperature set-points and heating power are preset and programmed according to customers requirements at the Halton Marine factory.
