New Compact Navigation Station

Simrad has developed a new compact navigation station that incorporates functions of GPS chart plotter, echo sounder and radar. Called the CX NavStation, the unit is based on proven Simrad products. Once the user has the CX installed, simple upgrades are available to increase navigation capabilities – plugging in a scanner will offer radar functionality, adding an upgrade card and a transducer will offer echo sounder function. The CX Series utilises a new display technology that reduces glare and extends viewing angle increasing the quality of the image in sunlight and during night conditions.

New features include radar overlay with head-up mode, radar display with depth info and enhanced course vector and pre-set heading offsets for radar antennas. Additionally, the CX NavStation utilises new C-MAP MAX chart system. These electronic charts provide greater chart coverage and functionality, including dynamic tidal flow on charts, presentation of relevant geographical photos and drawings (landmarks, aids to navigation, bridges, etc.), land data with elevations, contours and road maps for major ports and a grounding alarm. The CX NavStation base units are available in 3 screens sizes: CX34 (7”), CX44 (10.4”) and the CX54 (15”).
