New Drillship

Navis Explorer I has been delivered from Samsung Heavy Industries 14 days ahead of contracted delivery date. The vessel costs approximately USD 300 million.

Navis Explorer I is an advanced drill ship with favourable motion characteristics, especially suitable for drilling in ultra deep water and in harsh environment. At delivery, the vessel is certified for drilling in all offshore areas, including the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
Sea trials and commissioning of the vessel have been carried out successfully, and the vessel will now be prepared for mobilisation to the drilling location. The Navis Class Drill Ship design has originally been developed by LMG Marin in co-operation with Hitec ASA. These unique drill ships will be capable of drilling in North Atlantic and worldwide environment down to 3000 m water depth.
