New Epoxy

      2/7/2000

Ameron Coatings U.S., announced the introduction of Amerlock 2, the next generation surface tolerant fast-dry, low-temperature cure epoxy. Amerlock 2 is so advanced, it goes beyond its predecessor in all the areas that count: improved corrosion protection in marine and industrial environments.

The properties include: low temperature cure-down to O°F/-18°C; fast drying time typically recoatable in 3 hours; surface tolerant, good chemical resistance to splash, spillage and fumes; self-priming over most existing coatings; less than 250g/l of VOC. Additional features include improved color stability and dramatically reduced odor compared to other low temperature epoxies.

Amerlock 2 is designed for use in a variety of areas, even where optimum surface preparation is impossible. As a maintenance coating, Amerlock 2 protects steel structures in petrochemical facilities, bridges, tank exteriors, marine weathering, offshore, oil tanks, piping, etc.
