Helge Midttun, who is currently chief executive of Stento, will succeed Sven Ullring on 25 May, 2000. Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Chairman of the Board, Wilhelm Wilhelmsen, says that Helge Midttun, with his managerial experience of international companies and experience of high-tech sectors, is very well suited to taking over as the head of one of Norway's most respected and international companies.

Helge Midttun, who has an MBA from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in Bergen, has been the CEO of Stento since 1996. The company's main operations are in the field of communications and security, maritime communications and mobile radio communications systems. Helge Midttun has previously worked for Arthur Andersen, Schlumberger Scandinavia, Scanvest Ring and Rieber & Son. When working for Rieber, he was in charge of developing the company's activities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for four years, and was also a member of the executive board.
