New Heavy Derrick/PipeLay Vessel

Yantai Raffles Shipyard, together with Prime Contractor Friede Goldman Halter, has secured a contract valued at US$ 109 million from CNOOC ( China National Offshore Oil Corporation ) to build a 157m , 3800tons Heavy Derrick / PipeLay Vessel. The contract signing ceremony was held in The Kerry Centre Hotel on 21st December in Beijing, China. The 157m long vessel will be built to CCS and ABS requirements in Yantai Raffles Shipyard, Yantai, located in Shandong Province, China.

Delivery for this vessel is anticipated on 31st March 2001.Main equipment and machinery include: AmClyde Crane 3800 tons, two Non-Retractable Azimuthing thrusters with FPP driven by electric motors, three Generator Sets 4140KW 6.6KV, one Generator 5000KVA, Harbour Generator Set 250KVA, Emergency Generator Set 305KW and 12 Units Mooring Anchor System.
