The demand by the underwater vehicle industry for a small, accurate, and power-efficient Doppler Velocity Log has been met by SonTek's new Argonaut-DVL. It operates on less than 0.5 watts. The advanced CMOS circuitry used in the Argonaut dramatically reduces power consumption while maintaining robust performance under various ocean conditions. Using all-digital signal processing, the new DVL offers bottom-tracking performance, current measurement, and altimetry all in one package. Additional options such as an internal flux-gate compass and a pressure housing rated at 6000 m, allow the Argonaut-DVL to operate in all the world's oceans. Alsthom Automation - Schilling Robotics has selected SonTek's Argonaut-DVL as an integral part of the closed-loop vehicle control system for its new work-class ROV "Quest".
