New Stowage Planning System

Autoship Systems launched a new Stowage Planning System (SPS) for non-containerized cargo on RORO Vessels. Central to the stowage planning software is the concept of the electronic stowage plan, or Stowage Plan File. The stowage plan file is the repository for all information associated with the stowage simulation for a particular vessel and voyage. The stowage plan information stored includes the graphical representation, the booking list being used, the location and status of cargo within the vessel, and the corresponding hydrostatic condition of the vessel. These stowage plan files also provide the key to seamless data transfer.

SPS is a system designed to RoRo industry specifications. Its many features include:

• semi-automatic stowage plan development for all Ro-Ro cargo
• easy stowage, repositioning/reorienting, and discharge of individual cargo items or blocks on any deck
• user-defined stowage rules, space conflict resolution, movable decks, pad weight limitations, and multiple automatic cargo checks
• full cargo and deck annotation capabilities
• full integration with your cargo lineup (or "booking") system
• an optional "Bayplan" module for planning container cargo on weatherdecks
