New Supply-Utility Vessels
Bollinger Shipyards (Louisiana, USA) has delivered the Seacor Eagle, the first of two supply-utility vessels for Seacor Marine (Houston). A nearly identical sister ship, Seacor Hawk, is scheduled for delivery later in November 2001. The vessel meets and exceeds new regulatory requirements and is full ABS (A+, AMS) 100 gross tons (U. S. Reg.) and less than 500 gross tons (ITC registered tonnage) which, according to the shipyard, makes this design more attractive and profitable for any operator. |
 | Seacor Eagle is 145.5 feet in length, with a 36-foot beam. Maximum draft is 9 feet 10 inches. It is powered by two Cummins KTA-38MO diesel engines developing a total of 1500 BHP at 1600 RPM. They drive two Bollinger 72-inch by 57-inch stainless steel propellers through Twin Disc MG5301 reverse/reduction gears. Steering is provided by a Jastram steering system and anchors are handled by a Coastal Marine Equipment system. Seacor Eagle has 2800 square feet of aft deck space with a maximum deck load of 390 tons. It has four mud tanks with a total capacity of 50,000 gallons of liquid drilling muds. Other capacities are over 60,000 gallons of fuel, 560 gallons of oil, and over 10,000 gallons of fresh water. |
