Trimble introduced the latest addition to its Lassen family of board-level products, the Lassen SK II GPS module. The Lassen SK II is a small, high-performance Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver with half-watt power consumption. Designed specifically for embedded solutions, the Lassen SK II offers reliable GPS information for navigation, tracking, data collection and timing applications. Integrators can easily add GPS with minimal impact on a system's power supply. It is fully compatible with first generation Lassen-SK8 applications providing an easy upgrade path for system integrators. The receiver is intended for OEMs and system integrators who require low-power consumption, maximum GPS performance and flexibility. Approximately two-thirds the width of a business card, the Lassen SK II makes use of the latest advances in silicon technology to offer even more robust radio frequency (RF) performance. The Lassen SK II is expected to be available in September 1999 through Trimble's worldwide sales organization. More information: Trimble
