Two years after introduction of the new Integrated Bridge System BRIDGE CONTROL, Raytheon Marine has now successfully completed installation of the new system on board 43 vessels.
BRIDGE CONTROL® is a complete navigation and communication system. One important feature of BRIDGE CONTROL is the "Automatic Navigation and Trackkeeping System (ANTS)" which makes it possible to plan a safe route on an electronic sea chart and to steer automatically along this route with high precision. During this procedure, the Automatic Navigation and Trackkeeping System (ANTS) continuously checks the ship's position and the deviation from the planned route. ANTS also monitors the availability of all important navigation functions as well as the operator's fitness.
The Automatic Navigation and Trackkeeping System releases the watch officer from routine work and provides a high degree of navigational safety. It's high precision track control capability steers a ship along a pre-planned track with an accuracy of ± 20 meters (based on DGPS position).
